Dharmendra’s death led to gossip about his personal life and two families. Many speculated that the relationship between the veteran actor’s first wife Prakash Kaur and Hema Malini isn’t cordial. Rumour
mills were running overtime, assuming a rift in the Deol family. However, Sunny and Esha quashed all claims by making an appearance together in Mumbai today (January 25). They watched the former’s recently released war drama, Border 2, at the family-run studio, Sunny Super Sound. The half-siblings came out in public for the first time after Dharmendra’s death on November 24, 2025, due to age-related ailments.
Esha Deol roots for her brother Sunny Deol's Border 2
Cheering for her elder brother, Esha organised a special screening of
Border 2 for family members and mutual friends. Her younger sister Ahana also joined to watch the war drama co-starring Varun Dhawan, Diljit Dosanjh and Ahan Shetty. The Deol trio posed for the paparazzi. Sunny interacted with the paparazzi and smiled when one photographer said his dialogue from the film, “Awaaz kahan tak jaani chahiye? Lahore tak.”
Hema Malini reacts to rift in family
In a previous interview with The Indian Express, Hema Malini opened up about her relationship with Sunny. The actress defined it as ‘very nice and cordial’. She further questioned inquisitive people for assuming things are not going well within the family. Hema refused to allow naysayers into their private life just for the sake of gossip. Bollywood’s ‘Dream Girl’ set the record straight saying she doesn’t owe an explanation to anyone. The extended Deol family is ‘very close to each other’, she shared.
