starring Salman Khan, is one of the most awaited releases of 2026. Directed by Apoorva Lakhia, the film was said to be based on the 2020 Galwan Valley clash between Indian and Chinese troops. It was earlier titled Battle of Galwan; however, the makers decided to change its title. While there's no official update on its theatrical release, an update on Salman's transformation is out. According to a media report, the Bollywood superstar is said to have undergone a massive physical transformation for the movie. The actor reportedly turned calisthenics-driven routine for the same.

A source told
Hindustan Times that Salman underwent one of the most gruelling physical transformations for
Maatrubhumi. The actor reportedly trained at extreme high altitudes in Ladakh. Khan apparently combined intense endurance drills with heavy weight sessions. The actor is speculated to have show a new level of commitment to the role.
Salman reportedly adopted a calisthenics-based fitness regime to maintain his physique during a 45-day schedule in Ladakh. The reason being it was difficult for him to carry a complete gym setup at high-altitude shooting locations, the source added.The report further mentions that Salman is pushing through all of this despite dealing with multiple injuries. "To train with such intensity, discipline, and passion under those conditions… honestly, it’s something only Salman Khan can pull off," the source revealed.

Maatrubhumi was initially scheduled for a theatrical release in April. Ever since it was postponed, the makers haven't officially announced a new theatrical release date. It has been produced by Salman Khan Films. A few promotional assets of the movie have already been released on social media. And while it was initially set to be based on Galwan Valley clash, media reports now suggest that references to China and Galwan Valley have been dropped. However, there's no confirmation on the same.

Sikandar with Rashmika Mandanna. The film, unfortunately, failed to work at the box office. Prior to that, the superstar was seen in Yash Raj Films'
Tiger 3 and
Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan. Up next, he has a film with producer Dil Raju lined up. It will be directed by
