Priyanka
Chopra and Richard Madden’s Citadel season 2 premiered on Prime Video on May 6. All seven episodes of the spy thriller went live at the same time. The second season is set right after the events of its prequel, taking the story of Mason Kane and Nadia Sinh forward. As planned originally, Citadel shows from the U.S, Italy and India were to cross paths in the universe. Amid lukewarm response to each standalone series, the makers reportedly cancelled the second seasons of the Italian and Indian versions. However, Citadel 2 has an important character that connects it with Honey Bunny.
Who plays Priyanka Chopra's mother in Citadel 2
Citadel: Honey Bunny, the Indian edition of the spy thriller, featured
Samantha Ruth Prabhu and Varun Dhawan in the lead, was an important link that added a strong backstory to Priyanka’s Nadia. The Raj & DK-created show revealed that Varun’s Raahi Gambhir and Samantha’s Hanimandakini Raj are Nadia’s parents. Paul Bazely makes a cameo as Raahi in the U.S version. In the second season of the U.S edition of
Citadel, Nadia reunites with her mother, Honey, who meets her granddaughter, Asha, for the first time. The third episode of the show features their reunion on a train. Now, Honey has grown old. Instead of Samantha, the role is played by
Nila Aalia.
Who is Nila Aalia?
Born in Africa, Nila was raised in England. She is an Indian. The senior actress featured in many films and shows, including the CBBC drama Wolfblood, The Commuter and The Wheel of Time. At an early age, Nila moved out of England and completed her education in Germany and the USA. She studied BA in American and English Literature and Theatre Studies, followed by an MFA in Acting from Case Western Reserve University in the United States. Workwise, she has also featured in series such as Doctor Who, Halo, and A Discovery of Witches among many others.
