Dulquer Salmaan On Working With Mammootty In A Film: He Is Supportive But....
In a chat with talk-show host Gopinath, Dulquer Salmaan addressed the reports of working with his father, the legendary Mammootty in a project. On being asked if a film is being planned Dulquer Salmaan said "The plans are there...if he does agree to be a part of a film, then I will feel proud of myself because I have been in the industry for 14 years, and his nod means I have earned it. Because convincing him to be part of a project isn't easy. but the thing is, even for Lokah I had to take time to convince him to be a part of it, because the budget went above what we had planned. But he is very supportive."
With this hint, fans of Mammootty and Dulquer Salmaan have expressed their excitement on social media platforms, sharing their enthusiasm. In September, on Mammootty's birthday Dulquer Salmaan and his production house Wayfarer Films shared a poster on Instagram that read, “Happy Birthday Moothon. You have our eternal love. -Team Lokah," confirming Mammootty’s involvement in Lokah. Meanwhile, the film’s lead actress Kalyani Priyadarshan shared the same poster, with the message "I remember the day he walked onto our set as a surprise. I think all of us instantly dropped anything in our hands the moment we saw him. I was jealous of the boys who managed to grab pictures with him, while I was stuck in costume and couldn’t. While we were all so tense, his aura was what it always is (light, funny, effortless). That’s just the kind of person he is – someone who inspires without trying, and reminds you what it means to be human. I just hope with this film, we’ve made him proud. Happy birthday to our Moothon," she posted
Dulquer Salmaan is currently awaiting the release of Kaantha a period drama thriller film co-written and directed by Selvamani Selvaraj, starring also starring Rana Daggubati, Samuthirakani and Bhagyashri Borse. It hits screens on 14 November.
