With
the box office going bonkers due to Aditya Dhar and Ranveer Singh's Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge, several upcoming releases have had to rethink their strategies. One such film is Dacoit, starring Adivi Sesh, which is now gearing up for an April 10 release. Amid concerns about competing with the Ranveer Singh starrer, Sesh has made a candid and humble appeal to audiences. While acknowledging the massive success of Dhurandhar 2, he humorously suggested that those unable to get tickets for the blockbuster should consider watching his film instead.
Adivi Sesh praises Dhurandhar 2
At the trailer launch event of Dacoit, Adivi Sesh addressed the impact of Dhurandhar 2’s phenomenal run on his film’s release plans. Initially slated to hit theatres on March 19, the same day as Dhurandhar 2, the makers decided to push the release to April 10. According to Sesh, the decision was influenced by the overwhelming demand and screen dominance of Aditya Dhar’s film, which left limited showcasing opportunities for other releases.
Despite this, Sesh made it clear that he holds no resentment. In fact, he praised Dhurandhar 2 and its lead star Ranveer Singh, calling the film a cultural phenomenon. He also called Aditya Dhar his 'friend'. Drawing a comparison with the Indian Premier League, he described the movie as something that shapes the industry’s zeitgeist. He confidently stated that Dhurandhar 2 will likely continue its successful run for another three to four months and added that a film like that deserves such longevity. However, Sesh also said that he believes that there is ample room in the industry for different kinds of cinema. With a light-hearted remark, he urged audiences who struggle to secure tickets for Dhurandhar 2 to give Dacoit a chance instead. The actor stated hilariously, "There’s room for different kinds of cinema. And main chahta hoon jinko bhi Dhurandhar ki ticket na mile wo jaldi-jaldi Dacoiti karne aajaye."
