Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah’s Abdul has become famous in every household. The iconic character has been played by actor Sharad Sankla for 18 years now. Recently, in an exclusive interview with Zoom/Telly Talk India, Sharad opened up about the phase where he was jobless for 7 years before TMKOC.

In a candid conversation with us, Sharad Sankla recalled how the unemployment changed his perspective towards work. Sharad mentioned that he realised the importance of work. Sharad Sankla aka Abdul said, “I pray to the almighty that nobody should go through such a phase. Everyone sees ups and downs in life. I would like to tell all the aspiring actors, such days should come in your lives because they will teach you the value of work. Jab kaam nahi hota tab daal-atte ka bhav pata chalta hai. I never say no to people who ask for a picture with me. I have seen many actors refusing to give pictures to their fans. But such experiences give you a valuable lesson and teach you the importance of work.”

I have been working on Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah for 18 years now. The audience has been giving me a lot of love. I kept struggling to get work for 7 years but never lost hope. You need to keep patience; God will eventually help you out.” Talking about Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah, the show is being produced by Asit Kumarr Modi and it also stars Dilip Joshi, Amit Bhatt, Mandar Chandwadkar, Sunayana Fozdar, Sachin Shroff, Sonalika Joshi and others in key roles.
