Dhurandhar Criticism: R Madhavan Says Haters Have Become 'Irrelevant' After Film Crosses Rs 200 Crore In First Week

Singh-starrer Dhurandhar has been creating a havoc at the box office. R Madhavan played the role of Director of Intelligence Bureau, Ajay Sanyal (based on Ajit Doval). Dhurandhar has been minting big numbers at the box office, but some critics gave it a negative rating by calling it a ‘propaganda film’. Now, R Madhavan has reacted to such negative reviews.

In an interview with Puja Talwar, R Madhavan mentioned that the team was expecting initial backlash before the film’s release. He said, “From the very beginning, I knew this was going to impact society. There will be people who will first give it very bad ratings.” The actor also recalled how the critics gave negative reviews to films like Rang De Basanti and 3 Idiots. He called it ‘premature criticism’, as both the films turned out to be massive hits at the box office. According to R Madhavan, early negative reviewers often fade into irrelevance after the audience starts appreciating the work. He said, “The people who gave two ratings have become irrelevant. We are still in the industry. I’m not saying this out of spite; you’re just missing the point. You haven’t seen the end yet.” Talking about Dhurandhar, the spy drama crossed the Rs 200 crore mark at the box office in the first week. Now, the film is continuing its dream box office run in the second week as well.
