Bollywood actor Bharat Kapoor passed away on April 27, 2026, due to multiple organ failure. He was 80 and breathed his last at Sion Hospital, Mumbai. He was cremated on Monday at 6:30 pm. Now, the family has organised a prayer meet in remembrance of the late actor on April 30, 2026, in Sion. The digital invite has been circulated on social media with the venue and time for the guests who will come to pay their last respects to the departed soul. Bharat Kapoor is survived by his wife and two sons. His daughter Kavita died a few years ago.
Bharat Kapoor’s Prayer Meet Details
Bharat Kapoor’s prayer meet will be held at Sion, Mumbai, from 5 pm to 7 pm onwards. The venue address reads, “Ground Floor, North Indian Association, Bhaudasji Road Extension, near Sion Hospital, Sion, Mumbai, Maharashtra – 400022. Bharat Kapoor was born on October 15, 1945, and passed away on April 27, 2026. In an emotional note, the family wrote, “A remarkable artist. A graceful soul. His performances will live on; his memories will live forever in our hearts.”
Avatar Gill attended Bharat Kapoor’s last rites in Sion. He revealed that the late actor had been sick for the last two to three days. He told India Today that Bharat passed away at Sion Hospital at around 3 pm. He got a call from his son at around 4:30 pm. It has to be noted that Bharat Kapoor had been away from the limelight for a long time. He was cremated in the presence of his family members and close friends. None of the big celebrities from Bollywood attended his last rites in Sion.

Bharat Kapoor worked in the film industry for more than 55 years. He had acted in several popular films like Noorie, Ram Balram, Love Story, Bazaar, Aakhree Raasta, Ghulami, Satyamev Jayate, Swarg, Rang, Khuda Gawah, Barsaat, Saajan Chale Sasural, Meenaxi: A Tale of Three Cities, and so on. In films, he was known for playing the roles of police officers and lawyers. Apart from that, the late actor had also worked in several TV shows such as Parampara, Aahat, Saans, Sansaar, Tara, Chunauti, Kahani Chandranti Ki, Bhagyavidhaata, Campus and so on. As far as his family is concerned, his son Rahul Kapoor is a film director. Bharat Kapoor’s demise is indeed a big loss to Hindi cinema.
