fans, get ready to see your favourite star in the Singham avatar once again! According to recent reports, the Soorarai Pottru star is gearing up to collaborate with Aavesham director Jithu Madhavan for a power-packed cop action film. The movie is expected to go on floors in December 2025.

Suriya to begin work on Suriya47 in December 2025?

According to a report in Pinkvilla, Suriya will commence shooting for the tentatively titled Suriya47 on December 8, 2025. The team is likely to begin filming in Kerala before moving to additional locations. However, these updates remain speculative, as the makers have yet to issue an official announcement.If the reports turn out to be true, the movie will mark Suriya’s return as a police officer after eight years, his last cop role being in Singam 3 (2017). Nazriya Nazim Fahadh to play lead in Suriya47

Rumours also hint that Nazriya Nazim Fahadh may play the female lead. The duo was earlier expected to team up for Sudha Kongara’s Puranaanooru before the project was shelved. Additionally, Fahadh Faasil and Lokah Chapter 1: Chandra actor Naslen are said to be in talks for key roles. Composer Sushin Shyam is also reportedly on board, marking his debut in Tamil cinema.

Meanwhile, speaking about Suriya’s projects, his next release is the action entertainer Karuppu, directed by RJB (RJ Balaji). The film features him as Saravanan, a lawyer fighting social injustice. The story takes a supernatural turn when the deity of a Karuppuswamy temple possesses Saravanan to take on powerful evil forces and deliver justice to the oppressed.The film stars Trisha Krishnan, Indrans, Natty Subramaniam, Swasika, Sshivada, Anagha Maaya Ravi, Supreeth Reddy, Yogi Babu, and several others in pivotal roles. Sai Abhyankkar has composed the music and background score. The first single, “God Mode,” is already out, with a second track expected soon. Karuppu is yet to lock a release date, though speculation indicates a late January 2026 arrival. Looking ahead, Suriya also has Suriya46 with director Venky Atluri in the pipeline. The film is expected to feature Raveena Tandon and Mamitha Baiju in key roles.
