Mahavatar: Vicky Kaushal's Fierce First Look As Warrior Parashurama Unveiled

the occasion of Parshuram Jayanti on April 19, Maddock Films unveiled the first look of Mahavatar with star Vicky Kaushal in the lead. Directed by Amar Kaushik, it will see the Bollywood star in warrior mode as Parashurama in the upcoming Hindi film. The actor will be taking on yet another physical transformation as the warrior in the mythological film. So far, only Vicky has been announced as part of the cast of Mahavatar, but based on the first look, more details are awaited of this epic Hindi feature.

Vicky Kaushal is Parashurama in Mahavatar

On social media, Maddock Films dropped the first post of Mahavatar on Parshuram Jayanti. They posted that to protect Dharma, sometimes difficult decisions needed to be made. This was Parashurama's message. The makers added, "On this Parashurama Jayanti, we bow to the warrior who stood for truth beyond fear."

In the poster, Vicky has been imagined with a long beard and hair and wearing a sacred thread. His Parashurama, who is solidly built, looks like he has emerged from fire to fight a great battle. Staring down his enemy, he has been dubbed the 'Sage of War' from the poster. Vicky will begin shooting for Mahavatar after completing Love & War. No release date has been announced for the film. This isn't the first film that is going to be centered around Parshuram. Ramayana Parts 1 and 2, starring Ranbir Kapoor, feature the actor as Bhagwan Parshuram. Additionally, Hombale Films' animated feature Mahavatar Parshuram, directed by Ashwin Kumar, will be releasing in December 2027.

Rumoured cast for Mahavatar

Fans waiting to see who is named as the female lead opposite Vicky. Earlier, reports suggested that Shraddha Kapoor would be starring in the mythological film. She has earlier worked on the Stree films with filmmaker Amar Kaushik and Maddock Films. But recently, a report in News18 suggested that Miss Universe 2021 Harnaaz Sandhu could be up for a part in the feature instead. She made her Bollywood debut with Baaghi 4, starring Tiger Shroff.

Vicky Kaushal's upcoming project

Last seen as Chhatrapati Sambhaji in Chhava (2025), Vicky has been busy filming for Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Love & War. He reunites with his Sanju co-star Ranbir Kapoor and Raazi co-star Alia Bhatt on the period romance. Earlier this week, it was announced that the film has announced its new release date of January 21, 2027. It will be released in Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu during the Republic Day week.
