The
organisers of rapper and singer Yo Yo Honey Singh's live show in Mumbai are facing a police complaint after several safety rules were violated during the event. Mumbai Police have registered an FIR against Inderjeet Singh, a representative of Tamannaz Worldwide, who organised the concert held at MMRDA Grounds in Bandra Kurla Complex on March 28. The concert, which was held on a grand scale, reportedly had major violations of safety measures, which is why the Mumbai Police have filed a complaint.
FIR Filed Over Usage Of Illegal Laser Light, Crowd Mismanagement
The primary issue that led to the FIR is the use of high-beam laser lights at a venue that falls within the safety perimeter of Mumbai's airport. The MMRDA Ground is located very close to Mumbai Airport, which is why the use of laser lights is strictly prohibited at the venue. Despite this, the promoters went ahead and used them during the concert.
The police had already issued clear warnings to the organisers before the event. However, those instructions were ignored. It is worth noting that while the Bombay High Court, in September 2024, had declined to impose a blanket ban on laser lights in public spaces, it clearly stated that police hold the authority to take action if such lights are found to be dangerous.Apart from the laser light issue, the size of the crowd also became a major concern for authorities. The organisers had informed the police that approximately 12,000 people would attend. However, the actual turnout was estimated at around 18,000 to 20,000 people. To add to the chaos, a woman attempted to force her entry into the concert by trying to jump over a closed gate. Security personnel had to step in to control the situation. The woman was reportedly in an agitated state and used abusive language.
