Parameswaran's thriller Lockdown, which was slated for release on 5 December, was first pushed by the makers owing to intense rains in Tamil Nadu and Chennai. Later it was announced that the film will release on 12 December. Now, Lyca Productions, the makers have revealed that the film has been postponed once again, leaving fans disappointed.
Anupama Parameswaran's Lockdown Postponed One Again
The film helmed by first-time filmmaker AR Jeeva is said to be a film based on COVID 19 pandemic. Sharing the news of the change in release date the production company wrote, "Due to unforeseen circumstances, the release of our film Lockdown has been postponed to a future date. We understand the excitement and anticipation surrounding the film, and we sincerely regret any inconvenience this change may cause for our audience, theatre partners, distributors, and the media. We are committed to ensuring that the film reaches you under the best possible conditions. We truly appreciate your patience, support, and understanding. The new release date will be announced soon."
Lockdown was first set to release in June 2024, however it was postponed by the makers. The trailer, which shared online features Anupama battling her own demons and challenges during the peak of the coronavirus lockdown in the state. The film promises to deliver a gripping story of how Anupama's character finds a way out of her miseries amidst a global crisis.The cast of the film also includes Charle, Nirosha, Priya Venkat, Livingston, Indhumathi, Rajkumar, Shamji, Lollu Sabha Maran, Vinayak Raj, Vidhu, Abhirami, Ravathi, Sanjivie, Priya Ganesh, and Asha.
The film premiered at the recent 56th International Film Festival of India, which took place in Goa. On the technical front, Lockdown has music by NR Raghunanthan and Siddharth Vipin, cinematography by KA Sakthivel, editing by VJ Sabu Joseph, and art direction by A Jayakumar. A new release date for the film is yet to be announced.
