Rumours of a fallout between Kartik Aaryan and Karan Johar have been doing the rounds ever since their recent collaborationTu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri failed to make an impact at the box office.
However, industry insiders have now strongly dismissed these claims, calling them baseless. In fact, as per several reports, Kartik made a significant gesture of goodwill towards Johar soon after the film’s release by waiving off Rs 15 crore from his remuneration. Earlier articles stated that Kartik charged Rs 50 crore for the film.
No 'Dostaana' lost between Kartik Aaryan and Karan Johar
According to sources, Kartik’s decision has been widely appreciated and is being seen as a mature and responsible move at a time when several Hindi films are struggling theatrically. A source quoted by
Bollywood Bubble says, “Actors always hog the success of their films, but most of them vanish when a film flops. Kartik is one of the rare stars of this generation who has shown maturity and responsibility. All movie stars go through ups and downs. The ones who stand by their producers in hard times are the ones who end up having long and successful careers.”
This gesture is not unprecedented for the actor. Reportedly, Kartik had earlier done something similar after
Shehzada failed to perform at the box office, choosing to waive off a substantial portion of his fee to support the film’s producers.
Kartik-Karan to continue collaborations
Reports also suggest that both Kartik Aaryan and Karan Johar have brushed aside rumours claiming that Johar’s talent agency DCAA and Kartik had ended their association. As per
India Today, sources close to Karan Johar’s team have clarified that no such split has taken place. Kartik is said to continue his association with DCAA, with no official statement suggesting otherwise.
At present, Kartik is busy shooting
Nagzilla, which is co-produced by Dharma Productions. Insiders at Dharma maintain that there is no tension between the actor and the producer, and discussions are already underway for a third project together. Far from a fallout, it appears the Kartik-Karan partnership is very much on steady ground.
