Adivi Sesh on moments of emotional breakdown during Dacoit shoot
Talking about handling pressure, Sesh admitted, "By nature, I have anxiety," but clarified that it has always been about getting the quality right rather than anything else. He described himself as someone constantly pushing for improvement, whether it’s asking for another take or making sure every detail is perfect. Even during the trailer phase, his focus remained on whether everything felt just right.
He also explained how doubt plays its part, saying "it does help," as it pushes him to aim higher. Quoting his mentor Abburi Ravi, he compared filmmaking to organising a wedding every single day, where something is bound to go wrong. According to him, "
In the history of cinema, if there's any filmmaker who's told you, there was no breakdowns whatsoever and it was great and smooth experience - wo bakwaas kar raha hai, ya wo jhooth bol raha hai." Co-star Anurag Kashyap echoed this, recalling "bhayankar breakdown" moments when shoots were disrupted by heavy rain and difficult conditions. He shared, "
Bhayankar breakdown hua tha. Set baarish main beh gaya tha, pahaad ke sath."
Adivi Sesh on shooting Dacoit in Hindi and Telugu
During the interaction, Sesh further added that the scale of
Dacoit made things even more demanding, as it was shot simultaneously in Hindi and Telugu. He explained that it wasn’t just about changing camera angles but also about adapting performances. Small cultural nuances mattered. He shared, "We were shooting two films -
Hindi main bana rahe, Telugu main bana rahe.Aise bhi nahi hai ki wide toh utha liya close thoda kar lo, tight close ho toh kar lete, medium close up hata dete - aisa kuch nahi tha, because our approach was also that these characters might different in Hindi. Like the characterisation of the delivery will be different. Also, the delivery of the emotion is a little different. "
He added, "If I go to a Punjabi friend's wedding, it will be very common to see the DJ the moment turns on the beat, you'll see a couple of uncles do this. But you'll not see that at a Telugu wedding. But you will see Telugu people pick up a lungi like this to dance. So these little these little nuances that we tried to find was very important. "
