On January 5 KST, BigHit Music officially announced details of BTS’ upcoming album via the fan community platform Weverse - and within minutes, fans reported that the app temporarily went down due to massive traffic, sparking speculation that the announcement itself caused the crash.

BTS will release their fifth full-length album on March 20 at 1 PM Korean time (9:30 am IST), marking their first group album in approximately three years and nine months. Soon after the announcement dropped, domestic ARMYs began reporting that
Weverse allegedly crashed temporarily due to an overwhelming surge in users. Fan reactions flooded social media, reflecting both excitement and anxiety. One fan wrote, “Weverse really crashed for a solid 5 minutes off just the announcement alone. Getting tickets is about to be an actual war. Brace yourselves.” Another stated, “BTS comeback news caused Weverse to crash immediately upon announcement.” Ticket concerns were also front and centre, with one ARMY posting, “bye HOW are we getting tickets if just the announcement FOR the tour announcement MADE WEVERSE CRASH???”
BTS announces comeback album
BTS agency BigHit highlighted the emotional importance of the project, stating, “This new album is especially meaningful as it marks the group’s first album release in approximately three years and nine months, while also presenting the direction the seven members will move toward going forward.”
The statement further revealed that all seven members were deeply involved in the creative process. “The members were deeply involved throughout the songwriting process, infusing their own thoughts and colors, and expressed through music the emotions and concerns they felt during their journey,” BigHit shared. The album will feature 14 tracks, described as a heartfelt message to fans. Emphasising the bond with ARMY, the agency added, “In particular, the album contains sincere stories that we truly wanted to share with ARMY who have been waiting for the full group comeback, spread across 14 tracks. Filled with the most BTS like music, this album is also a heartfelt expression of gratitude to ARMY who have steadfastly stood by us for a long time.”Adding to the excitement, BigHit also confirmed that BTS will embark on a world tour, with detailed schedules set to be announced on January 14 at 12 AM KST - a reveal fans are already bracing themselves for.BTS had entered a military hiatus beginning with Jin’s enlistment in December 2022. Jin returned in June 2024, followed by J-Hope, RM, V, Jimin and Jungkook, while Suga completed his service as a social service worker in June last year. With all seven members now discharged, the stage is set for a historic comeback - one that has already shaken servers and reignited global BTS mania.
