The first season follows the story of mortal Justin Russo, who mentors young wizards like his sons, Roman and Milo, and the mysterious wizard Billie. Its second season was renewed in March 2025. It ended with Alex sacrificing herself by leaping into the portal with ancient prophecy Lord Morsus, from whom she had tried to protect others earlier. The show, being a sequel and a spin-off to
Wizards of Waverly Place, comes with expectations and popularity. While critics argued that the sequel was similar to its prequel, the inconsistencies are also questioned by the fans. The other section of fans is keeping themselves on their toes to follow up on the developments of the third season.
