Sandeep Reddy Vanga reviews Dhurandhar The Revenge
On Wednesday night, Sandeep Reddy Vanga visited a theatre in Hyderabad with Rebel Star Prabhas to watch Dhurandhar 2. Today, the
Kabir Singh director shared his review of the film and blasted the clan calling the film a 'propaganda.' Sandeep called out what he sees as hypocrisy and shared those who previously benefited from similar narratives are now criticising the film. He also reflects frustration over how differing viewpoints are quickly labelled as “propaganda” instead of being engaged with seriously. Sandeep also gave a special advice to Aditya Dhar and Ranveer Singh to ward off evil eye and even called
Dhurandhar The Revenge an outstanding film.
Despite largely positive audience response, the film hasn’t been free from controversy. Its political undertones have drawn sharp reactions from certain sections. Political commentator Dhruv Rathee criticised the sequel, calling it “brain rot” and arguing that, unlike the first film, it doesn’t even succeed as effective propaganda.
Anupam Kher's reaction to people calling Dhurandhar 2 propaganda
The debate around the film has continued to grow, with many questioning whether the Dhurandhar franchise leans too heavily into a particular narrative. Responding to such criticism, veteran actor Anupam Kher also spoke out strongly. In a video shared on social media, he said he feels sorry for those labelling the film as propaganda and suggested that instead of criticising, they should try making a film of their own. He also drew parallels to the backlash faced by
The Kashmir Files, which had sparked similar debates.Meanwhile, speaking of
Dhurandhar, the part 1 introduced Ranveer Singh as an Indian spy who infiltrates criminal networks in Lyari to take down a terror operation targeting India, while simultaneously rising within the underworld. The sequel builds on that story, exploring the origins of his character, Hamza Ali Mazari, also known as Jaskirat Singh Rangi, and follows his mission to dismantle the terror network across the border.
Directed by Aditya Dhar, the film also features Arjun Rampal, R Madhavan, Sanjay Dutt, Sara Arjun, and Rakesh Bedi in key roles. Released on March 19, the film has emerged as a major box office force crossing Rs 1,653 crore worldwide.
