Suriya 47: Suriya, Nazriya, Naslen Start Shooting For Jithu Madhavan’s Next With Pooja Ceremony, Jyothika Joins

Tamil superstar Suriya has kicked off the shoot for his upcoming film, tentatively titled Suriya 47, with a pooja ceremony on December 7, 2025. Sharing a video from the event, Suriya marked the official

start of production with a traditional beginning. The event was attended by Suriya, his wife Jyothika, Nazriya Nazim, Nalsen and other team members.

In the video, Suriya is seen with his core team and several celebrities, including his wife Jyotika and brother Karthi, as they launched the film’s shoot. Producers Rajsekar Pandian, SR Prakash, and SR Prabhu also joined the ceremony. The movie will be produced under Suriya’s new production company, Zhagaram Studios.Take a look:

About Suriya 47

Tentatively titled Suriya 47, the film is expected to be a cop action-comedy directed by Jithu Madhavan, known for his success with Romancham and Aavesham. The movie will star Nazriya Nazim Fahadh as the co-lead, with actors Naslen, John Vijay, Anandraj, and others in key roles.The technical crew is reportedly the same as the one from Mohanlal's shelved project with Jithu. Music for the film will be composed by Sushin Shyam, marking his Tamil debut.

Suriya’s upcoming projects

Suriya was last seen in the romantic action film Retro, directed by Karthik Subbaraj, which released on May 1, 2025, and received mixed-to-positive reviews. The film is now streaming on Netflix. Next, Suriya will appear in Karuppu, a fantasy action entertainer directed by RJ Balaji. The film, featuring Trisha Krishnan as the female lead, tells the story of a lawyer possessed by the deity Karuppu to deliver justice. The film also stars Indrans, Natty Subramaniam, Swasika, and others. The release date and OTT partner are yet to be confirmed.Additionally, Suriya has Suriya 46 lined up, directed by Venky Atluri, with Raveena Tandon and Mamitha Baiju as co-leads.
