Marvel started 2026 by releasing the first official trailer of ts upcoming series, Wonder Man. Starring Yahya Abdul-Mateen II in the main role of Simon Williams, the movie can be called MCU's love letter

to Hollywood and the real world of filmmaking. Ben Kingsley also reprises his role as Trevor Slattery from Iron Man 3 (2013) and Shang-Chi (2021). The cast further includes Demetrius Goose, Ed Harris, Arian Moayed, Lauren Glazier, Olivia Thirlby, and Zlatko Buric. This happens to be Marvel Television's first offering of the New Year, ahead of the Marvel Studios' mega event Avengers: Doomsday scheduled to arrive in December 2026.

About Wonder Man

The trailer introduces us to an aspiring actor Simon Williams, struggling to find his fame. During a chance meeting with Trevor Slattery, a yesteryear faded star, Simon gets to know that legendary director Von Kovak is remaking the superhero film Wonder Man. Simon gets thrust into the world of superheroes, getting powers of his own, including superhuman strength, super speed, and ability to create explosions. Simon tries to hide them all considering how such superpowers are looked down upon in the Hollywood universe the film shows.

As Simon and Trevor pursue life-changing roles in the remake, they believe it'll reshape their life even if they are at the opposite ends of their careers, we get a sneak peek into the world behind the camera with dollops of comedy. The background music of the show already looks promising.

Marvel's official synopsis of Wonder Man reads: Aspiring Hollywood actor Simon Williams is struggling to get his career off the ground. During a chance meeting with Trevor Slattery, an actor whose biggest roles may be well behind him, Simon learns legendary director Von Kovak is remaking the superhero film “Wonder Man”. These two actors at opposite ends of their careers doggedly pursue life-changing roles in this film as audiences get a peek behind the curtain of the entertainment industry.Wonder Man has been created and directed by Destin Daniel Cretton who previously helmed Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings (2021). Andrew Guest has also co-directed. The 8-episode miniseries releases on Disney+ (JioHotstar in India) on January 27, 2026.
