Ramayana Budget

Ramayana is a two-part franchise. The first is releasing on Diwali this year and the other is scheduled for a 2027 release. As revealed by the co-producer, Namit Malhotra, the combined budget of the film series is approximately $500 million, or around Rs 4,000 crore. The exact figure hasn’t been revealed yet.

Ramayana Release Date

Ramayana will be releasing worldwide on Diwali 2026. During a recent interaction, Ranbir Kapoor revealed that the film coincides with his daughter, Raha Kapoor’s third birthday, which is celebrated on November 6.

Ramayana Highest-Paid Actor

Reports reveal that the highest-paid actor in Ramayana is Ranbir Kapoor. As per various sources, he earns Rs 150 crore from the franchise (Rs 75 crore for each part). Yash, who co-produces the film with Namit, has reportedly charged Rs 100 crore – Rs 50 crore for each part.

Ramayana Shoot Locations

Ramayana has been shot mainly in a controlled studio in Mumbai. Lavish sets were erected to recreate important events. A large portion of the film requires VFX and hence, studios with chroma screens were designed. Besides Mumbai, Ramayana was shot in London as well. Directed by Nitesh Tiwari and produced by Namit Malhotra’s Prime Focus Studios and Yash’s Monster Mind Creations, Ramayana: The Introduction marks Oscar-winner Hans Zimmer’s debut. He is working with A.R. Rahman on composing the film's soundtrack.
