On Republic Day 2026, Mohanlal and Mammootty have given their fans the biggest surprise. The two superstars, who are joining forces for Patriot, are coming on screen sooner than expected with the film.

Revealing a dark, gritty and extremely intriguing poster, the makers of the film have now announced the release date of the film. The star-studded cast of the spy film includes Nayanthara, Fahadh Faasil, Kunchacko Boban and Rajiv Menon. The makers wrote, "The countdown begins NOW" and revealed the theatrical release date.

Earlier, fans had decoded a morse code that hinted at April 23 release, but nothing was confirmed. Earlier, individual posters of Fahadh Faasil, Kunchacko Boban, Nayanthara, Rajiv Menon, Mammootty and Mohanlal were released, which made fans even more excited for a full-cast film poster.

Patriot is touted to be a spy action drama. Mammootty plays Dr Daniel James in the film, who is eager to clear his name following serious allegations against him. Mohanlal portrays Colonel Rahim. Directed by Mahesh Narayanan, Patriot is bringing together the two superstars in a never-seen-before avatar. The film is one of Malayalam cinema’s most anticipated releases of 2026.
