Ahead of the release, the film was watched by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) members, and they have now issued a certificate to the David Dhawan-directed film. The censor board has granted a U/A certificate to Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai ahead of its theatrical release. Moreover, the film’s final approved runtime is 2 hours 16 minutes.

According to a Bollywood Hungama report, the CBFC passed Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai with a U/A certificate, which means it is suitable for viewers of all age groups, with parental guidance advised for children below 12 years. The source informed the portal that the film will be 136 minutes long. After the certification, the film will now have a smooth release on June 5. Industry insiders informed the same portal that the makers of Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai were keen on preserving the essence of the Varun Dhawan film for youths and ensured that the musical romance will give a crisp theatrical experience to them. The makers feel that the duration of the film is an ideal runtime for a mainstream romantic entertainer.

For the unversed, Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai created a solid buzz amongst the masses since its inception. The film was earlier scheduled to be released in May, but it later got pushed to June 5. However, the makers decided to postpone it to June 12 after the makers of Toxic: A Fairytale For Grown-Ups announced June 4 as their release date. Eventually, they decided to postpone their release date due to pending post-production work. Hence, Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai makers reclaimed June 5 as their release date. However, Ram Charan and Janhvi Kapoor’s Peddi makers announced June 4, 2026, as their release date. Due to this, there will be a big clash between a pan-India film and a Bollywood masala entertainer.
