Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri’s underwhelming box office performance put a temporary pause on Kartik Aaryan’s back-to-back successful run with the Bhool Bhulaiyaa franchise and other films that released
in the past two to three years. The actor was paid a handsome remuneration by Dharma Productions. However, reports claim that Kartik returned Rs 15 crore from his fees to the production house headed by Karan Johar after its failure. The budget of the romantic comedy helmed by Sameer Vidwans was reportedly Rs 90 crore. The highest-paid actor on board was Kartik. The film also starred Ananya Panday in the lead.
Kartik Aaryan's remuneration for TMMTMTTM
In December 2024, Times Now exclusively confirmed that
Kartik got his highest paycheque ever for
Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri. His first collaboration with Dharma Productions after walking out of
Dostana 2 was highly anticipated. Following the success of
Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3, the actor emerged to be the new face of commercial cinema. A source close to
Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri told us that he was paid
Rs 50 crore for the film.
The source revealed, "Kartik Aaryan’s remuneration for Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri is Rs 50 crore. It’s highly unusual to command such a price from a premium production house like Dharma Production.”The source further added, “This is the highest figure any lead actor is getting paid by Dharma after Ranbir Kapoor, till now. Post Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 and Chandu Champion, Kartik's market value has gone up substantially.”
Kartik Aaryan returns Rs 15 crore from fees
Amid reports of Karan distancing himself and his talent agency DCAA (Dharma Collab Artists Agency) from Kartik after the film’s failure, a Bollywood Hungama’s report denied rumours of fallout between the parties involved. A source said, “In fact, Kartik extended a gesture of support towards his producer days after the film’s release by waiving off Rs 15 crores from his fee.”
Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri was Kartik’s second film with Sameer after
Satyaprem Ki Katha, which was a decent performer at the box office despite mixed reviews. The romantic comedy wrapped up under Rs 50 crore worldwide.
