Kushboo Sundar recently opened up about her warm relationship with Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Vijay. At the the audio and teaser launch event of her upcoming production venture, Double Occupancy, in Chennai. Addressing questions about Vijay’s recent decision to permit five theatre shows per day during a film’s first release week, Kushboo welcomed the move and praised its benefits for producers. Despite belonging to different political parties, she stated that their personal bond remains unchanged. The spoke about the challenges faced by filmmakers today and explained why the industry has welcomed the new policy change.
Kushboo Sundar Says Vijay Will Always Be Like a Brother Despite Political Differences
Kushboo Sundar spoke highly about her bond with Vijay despite their political differences. She said that while they may belong to different political parties, their personal relationship remains unchanged and that Vijay would always remain like a brother to her. Kushboo Sundar currently serves as the State Vice-President of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Tamil Nadu. She met film along with other personalities representing as the President of STEPS (small screen producers council).
Kushboo Sundar also praised Vijay’s move to increase the number of daily shows for newly released films. Speaking about the struggles faced by producers, she explained that filmmaking has become increasingly difficult in recent years. She said that while cinema may appear glamorous from the outside, only those working within the industry truly understand the effort, financial pressure, and challenges involved in making films. She also said today’s audiences are more critical than ever, making theatrical success harder to achieve.

Earlier, filmmaker Sundar C had also shared his views on Thalapathy Vijay’s political entry. Sundar C said he has always held Vijay in high regard and described him as a kind person. He also spoke about the cordial relationship Vijay shares with his wife, Kushboo Sundar, mentioning that the actor affectionately calls her ‘Akka’. Sundar C added that he has no intention of criticising Vijay or his political party. Kushboo Sundar has previously worked with Vijay in Villu, where she appeared alongside him. She was also part of
Varisu in a cameo role, although her scenes were removed from the final cut.
