Now, Sivaji has reacted to the singer’s statement, in which he mentioned that he didn’t commit any other mistake apart from passing that statement. Sivaji on Chinmayi Sripaada’s tweet
Sivaji said that he noticed netizens on social media tagging Chinmayi after his speech. “I noticed people kept tagging; I forgot her name. Who is she? Rahul's wife. Yes, Chinmayi.” The actor also revealed that he had been served a summons by the Telangana Women's Commission on the issue. “Even if I have the support of people, what I said was wrong. But I know I haven't made any other mistake." For the unversed, Chinmayi Sripaada badly slammed Sivaji for his remarks. In her X post, the singer wrote, “Telugu Actor Sivaji doles out unnecessary advice to actresses using slurs like ‘D************a’ saying they need to wear Saris to cover their ‘S*****n’ - a word incels use. Actor Shivaji played a villain in a fantastic film and end up becoming the hero for incel boys. The point is – these are professional spaces where Shivaji is using words like ‘D************a’. He himself wears Jeans and Hoodie. He should wear only Dhotis and follow Indian culture. Wear bottu (bindi) and if he is married wear the Kankanam (bracelet) and Mettelu (toe rings) to signify he is married. Unbelievable how women are treated here. Just unbelievable.” (sic)
For the unversed, during the Dhandora pre-release event, Sivaji had said that the heroines shouldn’t wear revealing outfits. He advised them to cover their bodies fully by wearing sarees or dresses. He feels the beauty lies in complete attire or a saree and not in displaying physical assets. Sivaji said, “A woman is like nature. When nature is beautiful, we respect it. A woman is like my mother, whom I hold close to my heart. They created an impact through their attire, which is why I can name them.” Sivaji gave examples of Savitri, Soundarya and Rashmika Mandanna for their dressing sense. Stay tuned for more updates!
