Kim Seon-Ho has apologised with regard to his one-person corporation controversy that has hit the Can This Love Be Translated? actor for the past few days. The 39-year-old actor, who faced similar allegations
on the line of his labelmate Cha Eun-Woo for running a paper company under his family's name, has now issued a statement through his agency Fantagio. It comes a day after the scandal almost got confirmed that Kim was indeed involved in tax evasion after his income came under scanner for receiving settlement payments through a fake company called SH Do, established in January 2024 while under his previous agency.
Kim Seon-Ho receives settlement payment
On Tuesday, it was reported that the settlement money through a family corporation is now being categorised under "tax laundering." This means that if his income is recorded as personal income, he needs to pay an income tax of up to 49.5 percent. And in case he takes it as corporate income, he is entitled to a corporate tax benefit of up to 19 percent. On February 4, Korean media reported that Fantagio released an official statement regarding Kim Seon-Ho and apologised for the controversy surrounding his one-man corporation.Kim's case comes up days after Cha Eun-Woo, who's currently serving his mandatory military term, came under investigation by the National Tax Service for allegedly evading taxes amounting to 20 billion KRW (about $13.7 million), in what is being called "the largest tax retroactive charge ever imposed on an individual entertainer in South Korea."Fantagio's full statement regarding Kim Seon-Ho
