The production house shared the update through an official statement, assuring audiences that a new release date will be announced once finalised. On January 10, 2026, producer Kalaipuli S. Thanu officially announced the theatrical re-release of Theri. Taking to X (formerly Twitter), Thanu unveiled a brand-new poster of the film and confirmed that the action-packed entertainer will return to cinemas on January 15, 2026, marking its 10th anniversary.

Coming back to Jana Nayagan, during the January 7 hearing, Senior Advocate Satish Parasaran, who appeared before the Madras High Court on behalf of KVN Productions, said, “After seeing the movie, the member could have only made recommendations. The member has now become the complainant. I don't know how that happens. Even if one member has objections, it is still a 4:1 majority. How does the opinion of one member become the basis for review?”In addition, the court questioned CBFC for not informing the producers of Jana Nayagan about the decision to send the film for review. Justice PT Asha noted that the Examining Committee's objections had been considered earlier, excisions were made, and objectionable words were muted, yet the CBFC chose to stall issuance of the certificate.
