Stranger Things finale is not just an emotional moment for its massive fanbase, but even for the cast. And as promised, the actors of the Netflix show watched the final episode 8, The Rightside Up, together recently in New York. The photos that they shared on social media shows them assembling one last time to put curtains down on the cult show after a 9-year run. Dressed in their pyjamas and puffer jackets, the cast was casually dressed in their no-glam looks to prove how they were family and needed no gloss when around each other. Their photos have left their fans hugely emotional about Stranger Things wrapping up.On January 1, 2026, Cara Buono, who plays Karen Wheeler in the show, posted two images on her Instagram handle. While one showed
the cast seated inside an auditorium to watch the finale together, the other one was a selfie from outside the audi. Meanwhile, even Ross Duffer, one of the two showrunners, the Duffer Brothers posted a similar photo on his Instagram profile. Both Ross and Cara wrote lengthy captions with their post bidding goodbye to the show.
Ross Duffer's farewell note
Watched the finale with the cast who were in nyc for press a few weeks ago. It was an emotional and cathartic experience for all of us. Hanging out afterwards, I looked around at all these incredible artists—laughing, crying, supporting one another—and felt so lucky that we remain so close, bonded by these ten years. While we’re finished telling this story, we are family now, forever. We hope you all love the ending as much as we do. We are forever grateful for your support and love over the years, which allowed us to end this journey the way we always envisioned.

Watching the finale together was emotional, cathartic, and a little surreal, like the last day of summer camp, but with more tears and better lighting. I looked around the room at these ridiculous, brilliant humans, artists, my friends, my family and felt this wild rush of gratitude. For every single moment of it. Ten years of monsters, childhood, and magic. Thank you for loving this story the way we loved telling it. We may be done with Hawkins, but we’re forever bonded. (And yes, I’m still processing.) More BTS to come. Because moms, mom.
