The hackers these days are not sparing anyone, be it an AI company or a game studio. And in the recent massacre, Ubisoft has been targeted, and the result could be a leak of about half a dozen upcoming Ubisoft projects. According to a post made by an account on X, the hackers have exfiltrated the source code of all Ubisoft products from 1990 to till date. The data includes everything like games, Uplay, and other products by the company. The post suggests that the hackers have access to more than 900GB of data for 48 hours, and Crytek and Ubisoft have found themselves on the suffering end. Now, if Ubisoft fails to pay the ransom and it is confirmed that the data was successfully stolen, then we are talking about leaks that can shake up the whole
company, revealing all the products in development along with content from all the titles. The hack was executed via MongoDB using a security vulnerability named MongoBleed. Until now, Ubisoft has not confirmed anything related to the online leak of all source codes, so we are expecting a damage of catastrophic damage will most probably be avoided by the company.
