Arati Kadav gets candid
During a candid chat with us, Arati Kadav revealed that she wanted to preserve Sanya Malhotra’s emotions during the shooting of Mrs. She said, “Sanya does emotional crying every time. Especially in Mrs, she felt so much for the character. So many times, I was worried about preserving her emotions. There were scenes where she was not supposed to cry, but she used to feel so bad after the take. So, I would know she is on the verge of crying. I was observing her a lot. I would always check if she is emotionally okay.”
After Mrs, Arati Kadav received a lot of direction offers but she rejected many of them due to its problematic subject. The filmmaker said, “After Mrs, some of the films I was getting were where the girl is raped by five men, and then she finds herself. I thought, why should rape be the trigger for a woman to find herself? That was such a dominant narrative. I couldn't put my finger on it.” Let us tell you, Arati Kadav has not yet announced her next film. Her Mrs also got many awards at the Filmfare OTT Awards 2025. Sanya Malhotra won the Best Actor (Female) in Web Original Film category for her performance in Mrs. Stay tuned for more updates!
