Upcoming Movies December 2025: November, gave film buffs a chance to watch some films which made a massive impact at the box office. Where Dulquer Salmaan's Kaantha, Rashmika Mandanna's The Girlfriend
and Ram Potheneni's Andhra King Taluka ruled theatres. In December some brand new films with interesting plots are set to release. Here's what's up in the month of December.
Angammal
Angammal is directed by Vipin Radhakrishnan and starring Geetha Kailasam in the lead role alongside Saran Shakthi, Thendral Raghunathan and Bharani. The film which premiered at MAMI 2024 is about a man who has to grapple with his mother's unacceptance to wear a blouse along with her sari after he returns from a foreign destination. The film hits theatres on 5 December.
Lockdown
Anupama Parameswaran's
Lockdown helmed by debutant director AR Jeeva, which was earlier scheduled to hit theatres in June will now release in cinemas on 5 December. Lockdown also stars Charlie, Nirosha, Priya Venkat, Livingston, Indhumathi, Rajkumar, Shamji, Lollu Saba Maran, Vinayak Raj, Vidhu, Abhirami, Ravathi, Sanjivie, Priya Ganesh and Asha in supporting roles.
Vaa Vaathiyaar
Fans of Karthi are in for a treat, as the makers of his film Vaa Vaathiyaar announced that the film will hit theatres on December 5. Directed by Nalan Kumarasamy, the film stars Krithi Shetty, Sathyaraj and Rajkiran in prominent roles.
Love Insurance Kompany
The makers of the Vignesh Shivan's directorial venture , Love Insurance Kompany, revealed that the film will release on 18 December. It stars Dude and Dragon fame Pradeep Ranganathan in the lead with SJ Suryah playing the antagonist. The film also stars Krithi Shetty.
Retta Thala

Bala's Vanangaan, is gearing up for his film titled
Retta Thala which will release on 18 December.
Akhanda 2
Nandamuri Balakrishna returns in the sequel of Akhanda, which is titled Akhanda 2 Thaandavam with massive action, in Boyapati Srinu's Film which will release in theatres on 5 December.
Champion
Vyjayanthi Movies, the makers of Champion have announced that the film will release on 25 December. The film stars Roshan Meka, son of veteran actor Srikanth Meka in the lead, and it is set in pre-Independence era.
Kalamkaval
Mammootty's
Kalamkaval a neo-noir crime thriller film directed by debutant Jithin K. Jose, who also co-wrote the screenplay with Jishnu Sreekumar is all set to release on 5 December.
Bha bha ba

Bha. Bha. Ba. an action comedy film starring Dileep in the lead is set to release in theatres on 18 December. Directed by Dhananjay Shankar in his directorial debut, the film also stars Mohanlal in a cameo.
Sarvam Maya

Sarvam Maya a Malayalam fantasy-comedy-horror film starring Nivin Pauly is set to release on 25 December. Directed by Akhil Sathyan, the film Aju Varghese.
The Devil
