The story moves between timelines, following Om, a struggling junior artist in the 1970s who dies tragically and is reborn years later, only to confront his past and seek justice for the love he lost. Shah Rukh Khan played double roles in the film and it also served as launchpade for Deepika Padukone to Bollywood. Arjun Rampal, Shreyas Talpade and Kirron Kher also played significant roles in the film.
