Update on Vikrant Jaitly's detention case
After Major Vikrant was detained, his sister Celina contacted the Ministry of External Affairs to free him. According to Indian Express, the MEA informed the Delhi High Court about their contact with Vikrant and the UAE authorities. It has been mentioned that Vikrant chose to interact with his wife Charul, but not his sister Celina. Charul's attorney informed the court that their client has been with Vikrant throughout this crisis.
As per
Press Trust of India (PTI) report, the Ministry of External Affairs will now give Celina's brother an option of four attorneys to choose from. The actress also appeared before the court and stated that she chose to take care of her brother's case despite going through a divorce. Additionally, Celina mentioned that she brought the matter to the court because Charul apparently 'stonewalled' her.On the other hand, Charul joined via video call and responded in affirmation when asked if she wants her husband to be released. The court further questioned Charul as to why she hadn't authorised in the UAE to represent her husband
Major Vikrant. That's when she alleged that Celina doesn't have all the information and that the actress was kept in loop since 2024.
