Aftab Shivdasani talks about his journey in the industry

While talking exclusively on Zoom, Aftab Shivadasani expressed, "My story was I was a child actor, which has got absolute no relevance to what I do today. The only relevance it had in my life is that, it gave me exposure to the film camera. Maine 6-7 films kari hai as a child actor, starting from Mr. India, 1987, Shenshah, CID, Chaal baaz Avval Number, Sau Crore, Insaaniyat, 7 films. That was all through my schooling years. Usii dauraan mereko ehsaan ho gaya ki I want to be an actor, because that's something that I feel very comfortable doing. Then I did my collage, a lot of commercials, about 300 odd commercials, TV ads."Adding to the statement, he further mentioned, "When Ram Gopal Varma ji casting for Mast, he came across the ad that I did in 1997-98, and then he saw it and then he called somebody who knew my number and called me on the landline which then existed. He didn't take any audition, we just spoke to me literally for about half an hour, we had a very lovely, positive conversation and and when I asked him that 'Sir, what's this for?' he said its for a film opposite Urmila Matondkar.
