In an exclusive interview with Zoom after the success of Thamma, Ayushmann spoke about Andhadhun’s sequel and said, “I recently spoke to Sriram Raghavan sir to congratulate him on the trailer of Ikkis. Now, after the release of Ikkis, he will be jamming on certain ideas. I will be meeting him very soon. Hopefully, something comes out of his creative genius. Andhadhun released in 2018. It was said to be made on a budget of Rs 32 crore and the film went on to earn over Rs 456 crore worldwide. The film follows the story of Akash, a piano player pretending to be visually impaired, who unwittingly becomes entangled in many problems as he witnesses the murder of a former film actor.
About Thamma
Ayushmann’s latest release, Thamma, is his fifth 100 crore film. Backed by Maddock Films, it is a part of the Stree universe. Thamma also stars Rashmika Mandanna, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Paresh Rawal, Geeta Aggarwal and Rachit Singh. It released in theatres on October 21 in Hindi and Telugu. In Thamma, Ayushmann plays the role of Alok Goyal, a journalist from Delhi, who visits a jungle with his friends but gets attacked by a bear. Tadaka (Rashmika) rescues him. It is love at first sight for him. Eventually, he realises that Tadaka doesn’t have a beating heart and is a Betaal. To save his life, Tadaka sucks his blood and makes him a Betaal too. Thamma ends with a cliffhanger, promising a sequel.
