The teaser was unveiled on the occasion of Hanuman Jayanti, April 2, by Namit Malhotra. The two-and-a-half-minute teaser offers a window into the grand world of this two-part epic, based on Valmiki's ancient writings. Expectedly, the teaser has sent the internet into a frenzy, with fans and film industry stars all rushing to share their reactions.

The teaser drew big reactions from Bollywood celebrities almost immediately after it dropped. Karan Johar shared his excitement on his Instagram Story, writing, "CANNOT WAIT!!!! Ranbir Kapoor embodies Lord Rama with divine reverence and piousness... his last turn on hearing his name was the piece de resistance of this spectacular first look."Siddharth Anand also took to X (formerly Twitter) to express his excitement. Ramayana is directed by Nitesh Tiwari and produced by Namit Malhotra's Prime Focus Studios, in association with the eight-time Oscar-winning DNEG and Yash's Monster Mind Creations.The film stars Sai Pallavi as Sita, Yash as Ravana, Sunny Deol as Hanuman, and Ravi Dubey as Lakshman. The music for the film is composed by Hans Zimmer and AR Rahman.Ramayana is planned as a two-part worldwide IMAX release, with Part 1 arriving during Diwali 2026 and Part 2 during Diwali 2027.
