You can't blame Stranger Things fans for being on edge after seeing the latest interview by co-creators Matt and Ross Duffer. The writer-directors' latest interview had the duo sharing some hints about
the much-awaited series finale airing later this month on Netflix. They arranged toys based on the show's character to tease the ending of the global hit series, but now fans are worried that Steve Harrington, played by Joe Keery, is not going to make it out alive. Fans are already weeping on social media, as they have convinced themselves that his character is going to die. Check out the Duffer Brothers' sneaky hints about the next round of episodes from Stranger Things Season 5 below.
Duffer Brothers tease the ending of Stranger Things 5
Appearing on
The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, the Duffer Brothers shared some new info about how the show would end. They used Funko POP! figures of the characters from the Netflix show and placed them in a scene from the finale. Ross Duffer removed the Barb toy by wondering what she was doing with the others and put her on the floor, surprising host Fallon. Longtime viewers will know that Barb was one of the first deaths on the show in Season 1.
The Duffers moved on to make an odd pyramid with Will Byers (Noah Schnapp) on top of Henry Creel (Jamie Campbell Bower) and Vecna (also Bower) on top of Will. What's the connection between this trio? Then they got Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown) and put her in a glass filled with water, just like the sensory deprivation tanks in previous seasons. But the strangest place was putting Steve (Keery) on the edge of the table and later knocking him down. The audience in the studio screamed at the outcome.

Fans' reactions to Steve Harrington's fate
On social media, fans immediately worried that 'Steve is Toast'. Another wrote on X, "They really said no spoilers… but still found a way to mess with our emotions." Yet another fan exclaimed, "Not steve being on the edge. he is cooked."
Ross Duffer continued to play with fan emotions as he shared a screenshot of Steve's toy on his Instagram Story, adding more fuel to the fire. On the other hand, the filmmaker is enjoying getting these strong reactions from fans so close to the next batch of episodes.
New clip from Stranger Things Season 5 Vol. 2
The Duffers also brought along a new clip from the next volume, releasing on December 25 at 5 pm PT (December 26 at 6:30 am IST). In the clip, Joyce (Winona Ryder) informs everyone of the plan to get rid of the big villain now that Will has powers. She says, "We get Will close to the hive mind. Once he is, he jacks back in; only this time he doesn't go after a Demo, he goes after Vecna." She thinks it will be enough to end their current nightmare.
Everyone is still amazed that Will could end three Demogorgons simultaneously with his mind. In the end, there is a slight argument among the group about whether Will is a wizard or a sorcerer. Mike (Finn Wolfhard) and Erica (Priah Ferguson) insist he is the latter. What does this mean for the second volume? Is this the plan they are going to go with? We'll soon find out next week.
