the many highlights of Dhurandhar, the use of old hits like Monica, Oh My Darling, Aari Aari and Hawa Hawa has been loved by audiences. The recreated versions and remixes of nostalgic tracks added a fresh tadka to action scenes and key sequences. However, the sequel’s Rang De Lal (Oye Oye) landed in legal trouble when filmmaker Rajeev Rai of Trimurti Films sued the makers and Jio Studios for the "unauthorised use" of his song Tirchi Topiwale. Amid the case, he levelled serious allegations against Aditya Dhar and his team, even calling them "thieves."

Dhurandhar 2 makers 'thieves' over alleged use of Rang De Lal (Oye Oye) , filmmaker Rajeev Rai of Trimurti films tells Delhi High Court he will refrain from further media statements. Court records undertaking, asks parties not to escalate the dispute till next hearing."Recently, in an interview, Rai said that he watched the film in its first week and was shocked to discover his song being used without his knowledge. He added that while the producers may have believed they had the rights, he was confused and didn’t know how to react at the time. He stated that he eventually realised he would have to pursue legal action as he had not given permission for the song to be used in another film.

Tridev, which released in 1989. It was directed by Rajiv Rai and produced by his father, Gulshan Rai. The film starred Naseeruddin Shah, Sunny Deol, Jackie Shroff, Madhuri Dixit, Sonam, Sangeeta Bijlani, Anupam Kher and Amrish Puri. Calling the issue complex, he explained that copyright and creative rights cases are not easy for everyone to understand. He added that his intention now is to clearly explain what is legally wrong so people understand why the matter has reached court.Meanwhile, Dhar and Jio Studios are yet to react to this or issue an official statement.
