Salmaan's much-awaited film Kaantha has released in cinemas on 14 November. Directed by Selvamani Selvaraj, the period drama tells the tale of a superstar and his struggles with fame and power. Kaantha will stream on Netlfix after its theatrical run. Since the film has released in Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam, it is likely that Kaantha will be available in all these languages when it makes its digital debut. Announcing the same, Netflix posted, it wrote, “Two artists. One feud. A lesson they’ll never forget. Kaantha is coming to Netflix.”

Apart from Dulquer Salmaan, the film also stars Rana Daggubati, Bhagyashri Borse and Samuthirakani. The supporting cast includes Ravindra Vijay, Nizhalgal Ravi, and Bagavathi Perumal.Music composer Jakes Bejoy, who has been basking under the spotlight for his work in the the latest Malayalam hit Lokah Chapter 1: Chandra, scored the background score of Dulquer Salmaan's upcoming period film Kaantha. In a post on social media, Jakes Bejoy has called the director of the film, Selvamani Selvaraj, as Tamil cinema's "new visionary director"The film is jointly produced by Rana Daggubati and Dulquer Salmaan under their Spirit Media and Wayfarer Films banners respectively. Kaantha, marks a comeback into Tamil cinema for Dulquer Salmaan after 2022's Hey Sinamika. The film's technical team includes cinematographer Dani Sanchez Lopez, editor Llewellyn Anthony Gonsalvez, composer Jhanu Chanthar, and art director Ramalingam. Thamizh Prabha serves as its additional dialogue writer and story consultant, additional screenwriter along with Sri Harsha Rameshwaram.
