Once again, Netflix's Adolescence has swept the major categories at an awards show. After the Critics' Choice Awards on January 4, the team of Adolescence returned to take home four awards at the 83rd
Golden Globes on January 11. Stephen Graham, who has created the global hit series with writer Jack Thorne, took home two awards on Hollywood's biggest night for Best male actor in television limited series, anthology series or television film and Best television limited series, anthology series or television film. Afterwards, when pressed whether the show would return for a second season, Graham teased one possibility for viewers.
Stephen Graham shares update on Adolescence Season 2
After winning his award for acting, Graham was asked about returning for Season 2. He told
Deadline, "I cannot answer that question because it’s somewhere in the deep recesses of my mind and Jack’s mind, and we’ll pull it out in three or four years, so stay tuned."
Earlier, the Hollywood portal had shared that producers Plan B, led by Dede Gardner and Jeremy Kleiner, had been in talks with
Adolescence director Philip Barantini about the “next iteration” of the show. Gardner had said that they were thinking about how the series could “widen the aperture, stay true to its DNA [and] not be repetitive." It seems that things are definitely moving behind the scenes. However, there will be a long wait before viewers can see anything resembling
Adolescence Season 2 on their screens. The limited series is Netflix‘s second most-watched English-language series of all time, with more than 146 million views in its first 91 days.
