However, the news of Ajay and Om’s collaboration is not true. The actor’s team issued a clarification, stating that the rumour of a film being made on a Maratha unsung hero is baseless.

The statement read, “We have come across recent media reports suggesting that Ajay Devgn and
Om Raut are reuniting for a film based on an unsung warrior. We would like to clarify that there are currently no such discussions or collaborations taking place with the director. The story is baseless and entirely untrue.” The team further clarified that Ajay and Om are currently busy with their respective commitments. Ending the note, Ajay’s spokesperson urged social media handles to refrain from spreading false information.
Rumour of Ajay Devgn and Om Raut teaming up for unsung hero film
According to
Bollywood Hungama’s report, Ajay was looking for the right script to take the franchise dedicated to unsung warriors forward. A source also informed the portal that the actor wanted to make the film on the right budget, without compromising on the film’s quality. His visual effects company, NY VFXWala, was said to be involved in the world-building.
Tanhaji sequel hint

Tanhaji’s 6th release anniversary, Ajay shared a post on Instagram, hinting at its sequel. His caption read, “The fort was won, but we lost the lion.”

Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior was based on the Battle of Sinhagad in 1670, which was fought between Tanaji Malusare, a commander of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and Udaybhan. Saif played Rajput officer, Udaybhan Rathod, who served under Mughal army chief Jai Singh, while Kajol was seen as Ajay's onscreen wife, Savitribai. The film was directed by Om Raut and produced by Ajay’s ADF and Bhushan Kumar’s T-Series. It released on January 10, 2020, in 2D and 3D.
In 2022,
Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior received multiple awards. Ajay won the National Film Award for Best Actor. The movie also won the Best Popular Film Providing Wholesome Entertainment award. The awards were distributed at the Vigyan Bhawan in New Delhi. President Droupadi Murmu presented the awards to the recipients.
