Salman Khan's Tere Naam, a romantic cult is set to hit the theatres on February 27, 2026 right after Valentines Day. The news came right after it completed 23 years since the release. The film also starred
Bhumika Chawla in the lead roles. The film received mixed response from audience and critic alike and little do we know that Salman had a break down moment hearing the title track because it came right after his fresh breakup with Aishwarya Rai. Sameer Anjaan, a Bollywood lyricist, who was also a part of the created spoke about the hard moments in an interview.
Salman Khan would listen to Tere Naam title track and cry
In September 2025, during an interview with Shubhankar Mishra on his YouTube channel, Sameer Anjaan had spoken about the difficult times when Salman Khan was trying to overcome his breakup with Aishwarya Rai. The lyricist had mentioned that he would call Himmesh Reshammiya and cry while listening to the song. He called it Salman's 'personal anthem of heartbreak'. He further mentioned that, "He wanted the song—especially the line ‘Kyun kisiko wafa ke badle wafa nahi milti’—to reach Aishwarya, to let her feel his pain.”
Valentines Day 2026 re-releases
The leading theatre chain PVR and INOX have announced the re-release of Salman-Bhumika's 2003 release Tere Naam along with various other romantic hits of the early 2000s namely Devdas (releasing on Feb 6) and Yuva (releasing on Feb 20). Tere Naam is a remake of the Tamil film
Sethu (1999) in which Salman stars as the memorable Radhe Mohan along with Bhumika as Nirjara Bharadwaj.
