Pandey made her acting debut with Sandeep Reddy Vanga's Arjun Reddy in 2017. The actress was paired opposite Vijay Deverakonda in the blockbuster Telugu film. Since then, there's been no looking back for Shalini. She has worked on several projects, including a few Bollywood movies. Recently, when Shalini joined Zoom for an exclusive interview, the actress got candid about her first film. She admitted that the film gave her a jumpstart in the film industry.

When Shalini was asked which film changed things completely for her, the actress told us, "I think my first film, Arjun Reddy, gave me that start anyway. And it changed everything around me. That said, the actress believes every project has given her something or the other. "It's not that it does nothing for you. It gives you something, either the process of working with those people or the outcome of the film. But I think everything makes you who you are, and every project of mine has made me who I am today. And I'm proud of each one of them. So, I don't think I can pick one. Of course, Arjun Reddy gave me that jumpstart. So, that's that project to begin with. Shalini Pandey on gaining weight for Arjun Reddy

Continuing the conversation, Shalini revealed she gained weight for both Arjun Reddy and her first Hindi film. "Specifically for Arjun Reddy and Jayeshbhai Jordaar, I had to put on weight. (In) Maharaj, it was my normal weight because I had obviously lost weight after Jayeshbhai Jordaar."The actress also revealed that it's difficult for her to gain weight. "I am that body type that does not put on weight very easily. So for me, that's a little bit of a challenge. Once I'm done with that, then I have to be on a specific diet. I was on a specific diet to put on weight. But when I was done with that, I went back to my original weight," she shared.On the work front, Shalini was recently seen in Idli Kadai with Dhanush.
