idol Jay of ENHYPEN has finally addressed fans during his birthday live session, showing concern over the way some viewers were behaving in the comments. The live was meant to be a joyful and celebratory moment, bu it took an emotional turn as Jay urged fans to be more respectful toward all members, especially during personal occasions. Following the recent departure of Lee Heeseung, which has already left the fandom in a state of transition and emotional adjustment, Jay's comments will definitely hit the fandom hard.
Jay wants fans to be respectful to ENHYPEN members
During the live broadcast, Jay noticed several comments repeatedly referencing numbers, commenting things like 'ENHYPEN is 6, ENHYPEN is 7' and alluding to the group’s past lineup. While he maintained that such remarks did not personally affect him, he admitted that the situation made him uneasy when considering how it could impact other members. He said, "ENHYPEN is ENHYPEN. I always try my best to ignore that, so I’m okay. But don’t do that to other members, especially at their birthday." He explained that although he tries to ignore such messages, he worries that similar behaviour during another member’s birthday could make them feel hurt.
Jay said that while he personally felt fine, he did not want others in the group to experience discomfort or sadness. Explaining his emotions, he added, " Today was such a happy birthday for me, but I’m really nervous - what if other members would feel depressed in these situations? I’m really scared for that, so I don’t want that happening in the future." The idol admitted he felt genuinely concerned that repeated comments could make others feel low.
More about Heeseung's ENHYPEN departure
The incident comes shortly after Lee Heeseung’s departure from ENHYPEN, a move that shocked fans across the globe. Heeseung, who had been a core member since the group’s formation, left the band in March to pursue a solo musical direction. Following his exit, the group transitioned from seven members to six, now consisting of Jungwon, Jay, Jake, Sunghoon, Sunoo, and Ni-ki.
In the weeks after his departure, Heeseung introduced a new chapter in his career by unveiling a fresh artistic identity under the name Evan. The rebranding was accompanied by the launch of new social media platforms, hinting at his upcoming solo work. According to official statements, his decision to leave was due to a desire to explore a distinct musical path, different from the group’s direction, though he will still be represented by BELIFT LAB.
