time to head to the French Riviera! The fourth season of HBO's award-winning anthology series The White Lotus has settled on one key location to set its story. The drama series, created by Mike White, is heading back to Europe and this time, reports reveal that the series could be more starry than usual. The previous three seasons set in Hawaii, Italy and Thailand took place at the Four Seasons hotels via a marketing partnership with the network. According to a report in
Variety, the next season of
The White Lotus will be filmed at "a 19th-century palace-turned-luxury hotel called the Château de La Messardière in Saint-Tropez on the Côte d’Azur." The luxury property's suites are more than $8,000 per night.
The 32-acre Château de La Messardière, part of Airelles Collection, overlooks the French Riviera surrounded by parasol pines, cypress trees and jasmine. The report states that the hotel has a spa, restaurants, sports activities, a children’s camp and beach access by Rolls-Royce transfer.

While Mike White is currently writing the scripts, only two actors have been confirmed for the show.
The Hunger Games actor Alexander Ludwig and
Super 8 actress AJ Michalka were the first names revealed to be part of the ensemble cast. Earlier, it was rumoured that
The Crown actress Helena Bonham Carter was being eyed for a key part. Many French actors have been auditioning for roles on the series as well.
Filming and story details
The
Variety report reveals that while the series will be another mystery following guests and hotel employees, the Cannes Film Festival could be one part of the upcoming season. This year, the French festival on the Riviera is being held from May 13 to 26. Season 4 is reportedly being filmed from end of April to the end of October. Moreover, Château de La Messardière will not be the sole location for the show. Part of the series will also be set in Paris and other locations along the French Riviera.
