The couple is currently under investigation in a Rs 60 crore fraud and cheating case being probed by the Economic Offences Wing (EOW). The case was filed by businessman Deepak Kothari, director of Lotus Capital Financial Services, who has accused the couple of taking funds under the pretext of business expansion and allegedly diverting the money for personal use.Addressing the allegations, Shilpa Shetty and Raj Kundra have released a firm statement denying any wrongdoing. The statement read, “We categorically deny the baseless and motivated allegations being circulated. The issues sought to be raised are being given a criminal colour without any lawful basis. A Quashing Petition has already been filed before the Hon’ble High Court and is pending adjudication.” Emphasising their cooperation with authorities, the couple added, “Having fully cooperated with the investigation, we are sanguine that justice will prevail and have complete faith in the law enforcement authorities and the Indian judiciary.
