Thalapathy Vijay is retiring after Jana Nayagan. His fans are emotional, but excited to see his political career flourish. On January 3, the trailer of the H Vinoth film released on social media, sending
fans into a frenzy. It is high on action, drama and the much-celebrated Thalapathy swag. Jana Nayagan’s trailer was appreciated for its massy elements, but netizens couldn’t overlook its resemblance to Bhagawanth Kesari starring Nandamuri Balakrishna and Sreeleela. Previously, there were reports that Jana Nayagan is the Tamil remake of the Telugu National Award-winning film. Jana Nayagan’s director H Vinodh, maintained a neutral stand on it earlier.
Netizens react
Netizens reacted to the trailer of
Jana Nayagan and noticed its similarity. One wrote, “Every Scene Copied From BK.” Another wrote, “Honestly, it would’ve been better if they hadn’t released it at all. It feels like a reworked version of Bhagavanth Kesari, and not even an upgrade. Everything looks basic and generic.” One fan commented, “The #Jayanayagan trailer is out, and it feels like Freemake our own #BhagavanthKesari. It’s disappointing to see average content being remade and then pushed into our markets, taking up valuable screens that belong to original Telugu cinema. This is completely unfair.” One more person commented, “Is it a remake? I am sure he can’t match the aura of Balayya!”
What makers, director had to say
At the press meet in Vijayawada,
Bhagavanth Kesari director Anil Raghavpudi reacted to reports of Jana Nayagan being a remake. He said, “Vijay Sir is a true gentleman. We will know whether I have any part in his farewell film only after its release. Until then, let’s treat it as a Thalapathy Vijay film.” Jana Nayagan director H Vinoth responded to the rumours at the film’s audio launch event in Malaysia. Addressing claims that the film is a remake, he said, “Some people say this is a remake. Let me be very clear, this is a 100 per cent Thalapathy film, a complete commercial treat in theatres."Speaking to Ananda Vikatan magazine, the filmmaker said, "Lot of reports are coming in that the film is inspired from Bhagavanth Kesari or that is a remake of it. What I would like to say again that fans is that you don't have to worry about it. For now I cannot say if Jana Nayagan is a remake of Bhagawanth Kesari or not. Those who think if it's a remake film, and question why they have to watch it again, I suggest you to wait until the first show ends. You will get the answer at the time. The trailer and songs will also give you further clarity. But what I can say is that it is a Thalapathy film."
