The State Bank of India has issued an advisory warning its customers about a new phishing scam used by scammers that includes fraudulent messages. These scammers claim through the messages that the victim's mobile banking app YONO will be blocked if the users don't update their Aadhaar details. SBI shared a post on X and asked the customers not to download applications from unknowns links or APK files shared through unsolicited emails, WhatsApp, or SMS.The SBI post read, 'Fraud AlertScammers are sending fake messages claiming your YONO app will be deactivated as your Aadhaar number is not updated in your account. Don’t fall for it. Do not download apps from unknown links or APK files shared through unsolicited emails, SMS or WhatsApp. Stay alert.

Thank you, warm regards, SBI.The link is malicious and designed to steal sensitive information such as login credentials and personal data.

SBI has said that users should avoid clicking on any malicious links that they receive through text messages or anything. Apart from that, staying a little sane while downloading any banking application from a third-party app store. In addition, people also have to make sure that they keep a check on all the others apps on their phone and all the permissions they have.
