The actress later starred in several projects, but it was Mahanati that truly showcased her versatility and cemented her place among the finest performers. The film was not only applauded by audiences and critics but also went on to win multiple National Awards. Today, the film completes eight years since its release. On the special occasion, Keerthy shared why the movie remains her most special project to date.

Keerthy shared that
Mahanati remains closest to her heart because it demanded complete emotional dedication. She added that she became so deeply involved in the part that she almost lost herself in the character.Picking her favourite film, she said, "It would definitely have to be Mahanati. It was a very different role, and I had to completely immerse myself in the character. At one point, I was so deeply involved in the role that I almost lost myself in the character."
About Mahanati
In the film, Keerthy portrayed legendary actress Savitri. Hailed as the "Great Actress" of the Telugu film industry, she was one of the biggest stars in South Indian cinema. She acted in over 250 films and also ventured into directing and producing projects. Her personal life, however, was marked by several ups and downs. In 1952, she married Tamil actor Gemini Ganesan (Ramaswamy Ganesan). Their married life was tumultuous, to say the least. The power couple of South cinema had two children before parting ways in 1981. The

Vijay Deverakonda as Vijay Anthony. It further featured Naga Chaitanya, Prakash Raj, Bhanupriya, and Shalini Pandey, among others. Directed by Nag Ashwin, the biopic was widely applauded for honouring the late legend with powerful performances.
Mahanati went on to win three National Awards, including Best Actress, Best Feature Film in Telugu, and Best Costume Design.
