While we saw how episode 4 Sorcerer gave us a massive plot twist, ending on a cliffhanger, several burning questions about the entire series are expected to get answered. Fans globally have been counting days for Stranger Things Season 5 Volume 2 to release on Christmas (December 25). However, for the Indian audience, things were a tad different. Here, the show dropped its latest episodes 5-7 a day later, on December 26.

Stranger Things 5 Volume 2 release date

The makers of Stranger Things gave fans a perfect Christmas gift by releasing its final season's three episodes on December 25. However, unlike the international audiences, mainly US and Canada, that got access access to Vol 2 on one date, the release was pushed to the following day in India.

Why did India get a late release?

Vol 2 of Stranger Things Season 5 became available on Netflix at 5 pm PT / 8 pm ET on December 25, 2025. In India, it arrived on December 26 at 6:30 am. The reason is simple: a time zone difference. In accordance with Netflix's global strategy of releasing its shows together, India faced the delay. Netflix follows a simultaneous worldwide digital launch system under which new content is available to all users around the world simultaneously. Sometimes, the reason can also be local licensing, but major Netflix Originals usually drop globally at 12:00 am Pacific Time (PT) in the United States, and Indian viewers get it at 8:30 am IST (or earlier/later depending on daylight saving/specific timing).The OTT giant prepares its release schedules with a global time reference, and not the local clock time. It premiers content according to original broadcast. Now, the globally simultaneous release of Stranger Things aligns with India's morning time, which comes to 6:30 am IST. Thus, to say Stranger Things 5 is delayed in India, would be wrong. Because, a 12:00 am in the US means a 6:30 am the following day in India, which impacts the release of even Stranger Things.
